Bumble Bee Cake

 

This was my first attempt at a ruffle tower cake.  It leaned a bit when I took it out of the cake box.  Thanks to the instructions on the Martha Stewart website Ruffle Tower Cake  Kids usually complain because there isn't enough icing on the cake ~ this cake truly has enough icing.

Lettering Delights

My favorite place for cute, fun lettering is from Lettering Delights.  I have had an account for a couple of years and use it often for church and home.  If you follow them on facebook you can get a freebie every Friday.  Once a year Lettering Delights has Dollar Days, where many of their designs are a dollar and you can stock up on the fun fonts and graphics you want to use throughout the year.

Rag Quit

This is the quilt that I made for my first grand baby.  His mother's baby quilt had over 450 pieces in it.

James' room is a Dr. Seuss Themed, so I worked with Primary Coloured flannel and corduroy .

Michaels

Today is the day, the opening of Michaels in Toronto.  Luckily for me it is only two blocks away, in the old Linens and Things building.  I sent an email letting Michales know that the building would be perfect for them and two years later here they are.  Not sure if they ever read my email but I'm certainly very happy that they have moved into the neighborhood.

Michaels regular prices are high but with weekly coupons or 40% or 50% off, if you plan ahead you should never have to pay full price for anything.
